Adam Smith & St. Giles

Sale price$190.00

Your order comes fully framed and ready-to-hang.

The statue of Adam Smith stands quietly in Parliament Square, set against the Gothic stonework and stained glass of St. Giles’ Cathedral. Smith was an 18th-century Scottish economist and philosopher, widely regarded as the father of modern economics and best known for his work The Wealth of Nations, which laid the foundations of free-market theory. Born in nearby Kirkcaldy and closely tied to Edinburgh’s Enlightenment thinkers, his ideas shaped global economic thought and cemented the city’s role as a center of intellectual history. The statue marks his lasting influence on Scotland and the world, placed here beside the cathedral as a symbol of reason, inquiry, and civic life.

Customer photo review of The Evening Commute

Love this photograph! It has a sort of Hopper-like feel. And everyone who has seen it has commented on it positively—even the guy who came to hang it, who exclaimed “wow!” when we were unboxing it. The framing is very high quality, and even though it is a large frame, it is very solid and hangs sturdily. I was torn between the color and b&w version of the photograph, but I’m glad I went with the color version because it is largely b&w with only limited, muted color. An elegant piece.
