Sweden

Sweden lies on the Scandinavian peninsula in northern Europe and borders the Baltic Sea. The northern half of Sweden is covered by forested mountains, a part of which lies within the Arctic Circle. The south is mainly low lying lake region where most of Sweden´s population live. Sweden has warm summers and cold winters; very cold in the north. Main industries are manufacturing, furniture, defence equipment, cars, paper and pulp. The country has vast coniferous forests supplying timber for export. Sweden is an important producer of iron ore, gold, copper, zink and lead. Trading partners are mainly EU countries and the capital city is Stockholm.
